Hello all,
I hope that you're all enjoying watching the seasons change as fall sneaks up on us. My yard is full of leaves and there's been a chill in the air the past few nights. I love summer, but all good things must come to an end. Right?
Today I figured I'd give everyone an update on my fledgling home-based crafting business. I've officially been in business for just under 2 months now. I've been working hard on my increasing my inventory, lining up craft fairs and holiday bazarrs, and trying to find cheap ways to promote my work. We've got a little over a week left in the season for our local Farmers Market. My booth has done well most weeks and I've enjoyed meeting and chatting with the shoppers.
Unfortunately, my online sales are still lagging. So, I've been branching out. Rather than just listing items on Etsy, I've also been listing things on a few other webpages as well. The following is a run down of where you can find "Reprieve's Corner" online:
Etsy:

As always, thanks for taking the time to follow this blog and help support my crazy dream to support myself through my arts, crafts, and writing.

Zombie Fest Update
Hello!
I previously posted about the 2nd annual Zombie Fest which will be held in Coos Bay, Oregon on Saturday, October 13th and Sunday, October 14th. My local crafting group rented a booth for Saturday (only), and I was scheduled to run the booth between 7 and 11 pm.
The hosts of the event posted a change online this morning. Instead of having the event run from 12 pm until 11 pm on Saturday, they've shortened the hours. The event will now end at 6 pm on Saturday.
My fellow O.C.E.A.N. (Oregon Coast Etsy Artisian Network) groups members and I are now working on re-adjusting our schedule for the day. I'll definately still be taking a turn manning the booth. I'm just not sure which hours I'll be there personally yet.
Even with the event closing early on Saturday, it's still guaranteed to be a lot of fun. I've been talking to other vendors that attended last year's event. They said that people come in full zombie mode-- costumes, make-up, and completely in character!
Our booth will feature a combination of cute and creepy halloween and zombie themed items from a variety of our group members. Please, feel free to stop by and say "hi"!

Welcome!
Welcome to the new blog dedicated to my fledgling home-based crafting business, "Reprieve's Corner"!
Technically, I began the business part time over a year ago. I've been listing and selling a combination of hand made gifts and home decor items including hand painted wooden signs, hand crafted jewelry, greeting cards, plush toys, cloth pendants, upcycled items, & more! A few months ago I decided to take a giant leap of faith by quitting my day job in order to pursue my home based business full time. I've been a full time crafter for nearly a month now and I'm happy to report my status as "so far so good."
In addition to crafting, I also enjoy writing. I've had a few short stories and poems published over the years; but, to date, my biggest writing accomplishment was the publication of my non-fiction book Shipwrecks of Coos County in April of 2011. The book provides a photograph history of shipwrecks in my little corner of the Oregon coast.
My goals for "Reprieve's Corner" are fairly modest. I lead a fairly low-frill lifestyle, so I'd just like to sell enough of my hand made items to support myself and allow myself more time to spend pursuing my writing.
In the future I'll use this blog to advertise the farmer's markets and craft fairs that I'll be attending. I hope that if you're in the area you'll stop by my booth to say "hi!" I'll also post updates as I create new items to sell.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the products I sell. I also welcome custom orders (e-mail me for details ReprievesCorner@hotmail.com).
